Since surgery means external intervention to a person's body integrity with special tools, it creates chills and fear in everyone, no matter how big or small. This fear can sometimes prevent the person from even going to the doctor and put them in very difficult situations. When it comes to plastic surgery, a person faces social pressure in addition to the fear of surgery. A different voice comes from everyone's mind, such as "It's okay if you can't have this surgery", "Never mind the surgery, it's going to hurt you for no reason", "You can recover with a little diet and exercise...", or "You're not going to die if you don't get plastic surgery...". In other words, a person who has decided to have plastic surgery is a little timid, a little indecisive, and does not know who to trust, as he overcomes these fears and pressures and comes to the doctor. The multitude of different information on the internet further confuses the aesthetic candidate.

This is already a valid rule for physicians in all branches. The plastic surgery candidate should rest very well and his/her expectations from the surgery he/she is considering should be carefully determined. The surgery the person is considering may not be suitable for him/her. For example, a patient who plans to lose weight with liposuction should be clearly explained that this procedure is not performed for the purpose of losing weight. It should be clearly stated to a patient with extremely sagging breasts that prosthesis treatment alone will not solve the problem and that a mastopexy procedure should also be added. In such cases, if the patient insists on his own opinion, I politely express that I cannot perform the surgery. Because a bad result will make both the patient and the doctor unhappy.

The other subject; are possible complications of surgery. Even though they are very rare, I inform the patient in advance that they may experience these undesirable bad consequences. Because even in the most experienced hands, some complications may be encountered. These may be due to the person's own tissue healing quality, the materials used, the cleanliness of the environment, and the difficulty level of the technique.

I also recommend choosing the most effective treatment method that will relieve the patient's complaint. If the best treatment required for a patient complaining of severe wrinkles and sagging on his face is a face lift operation, offering laser treatment or ultrasonic lifting to this patient does not seem to me to be a very honest approach. Giving laser treatment to every patient just because you have a laser device, or trying to half-bake a surgery technique that you do not know at all will do nothing but increase the number of unhappy patients. None of us want this.

In conclusion; His friendly, compassionate and honest approach towards the patient pleases both parties and creates a sense of trust between the patient and the doctor. Establishing and maintaining this trust is the foundation for my surgical approach.
